Welcome to the Cosmos Research Center

My name is Tom Munnecke, and welcome to the Galactic Headquarters of the Cosmos Research Center.

When I was 6, I was visited by an uncle who seemed to know everything. I couldn't stop asking him questions, and his visit seemed to crystallize my future interest in science. Now that I have seen how many wonders of nature are available to us, I hope to pass some of this on to future generations.

We'll be tracking our progress and activities on this web site, and through pictures and videos. I'd like to help spread an interest in science all around the world using the Internet, so if you are interested in starting a science center of your own, maybe we can share our experiences and ideas.

It's never to early to learn about science and nature, how to observe and measure things, do experiments, and think through your results. There is so much to learn about the stars and the sea, about fish and birds, plants and the weather... in fact, everything around you.

There is also much we don't know about yet. We all know that things fall down when we drop them. But we don't really understand exactly how gravity works yet. Even Albert Einstein couldn't figure that out.

So, there's lots more to discover in physics, chemistry, math, astronomy, chemistry, biology, geology, ecology, and many, many other areas. Even if you don't grow up to be a scientist, the more you know about science, the more you will be able to apply these ideas to whatever you do.

We'll be studying things as big as the planets and stars and things so small you can't even see them with a microscope. We will be studying pond water and Giant Pumpkins, too.

So stay tuned, and keep learning!!!!
